Hot Stone Massage Therapy

This innovative technique goes beyond the experience of a typical massage therapy and enters deeper dimensions of relaxation. Using special iron-rich basalt volcanic stones the client is engulfed in warmth and the therapist can massage more deeply. The heat from the stones has the ability to loosen tight muscles and to enhance flexibility. The pressure and placement of the stones makes the person feel grounded and secure. The radiating heat, into even the deepest of muscles, promotes a feeling of well being and relaxation of the mind.
The heat from the stones helps to regulate blood flow. It also helps to rid the muscles of toxic waste products, which build up from stress and bad lifestyle habits. Stiff joints may benefit from the penetrating heat, making this an excellent choice after exercise or any physical work. Hot stone therapy is also used to help relieve stress, depression, PMT and may also be effective for some skin disorders.
Reiki & Seichem

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy which is all around us. The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is a very simple process. The recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes. If they are unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position, the main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki will pass through anything. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body. The practitioner is a channel which the energy is drawn through by the need or imbalance in the recipient. Neither person has to use any effort of will or concentration during this process. Reiki flows to the areas of need, soothing pain and supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself. Reiki may help restore balance in one's life. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms. It is possible to heal at any level: physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. Acute injuries may be helped to heal very quickly but more chronic illness takes longer.
Seichem (pronounced Say- Keem) originated in ancient Egypt and is an expanded version of Reiki; it allows more energy to be channelled during a session.
Thai - Hot Herbal Compress Massage

Thai Herbal Compress Massage has been practiced by Thai healers and Buddhist Monks since the 14th Century and is becoming a very popular treatment in the west. The treatment combines the healing effects of traditional Eastern massage techniques with heated herbal compresses. The compresses contain up to 20 traditional Thai herbs such as kaffir, lime, turmeric, camphor, lemongrass, prai, menthol, tamarind, to name but a few. The herbs are renowned for effects such as invigorating, purifying, relaxing, relief of tension and easing respiration. The deeply relaxing and penetrating heat from the compress soothes aching muscles whilst the essential oils released from the herbs are absorbed by the skin aiding the relaxation of muscles to allow joints to move more freely. They may also help soften, nourish and moisturize the skin, soothe skin irritation as well as brighten and tone the skin.
